Nick is a 17-year veteran of the Miami Police Department. During his career he has been a part of several units such as PST/crime suppression, FTO, Tactical Robbery, and Training Instructor. Most recently, he was involved as one of the innovators and creators of the very first social media unit for his agency. During his tenure in the social media unit he has produced content that has been viewed over 275 million times. Whether it be through VLOGS, PSA’s, or PODCASTS his approach to social media has always been out of the box and non-traditional. He has been recognized and awarded for his efforts as a trail-blazer in the social media law enforcement industry. Nick has also taken his love for the craft to the private sector and has collaborated with law enforcement agencies around the nation in efforts to boost recruitment and community engagement. Nick’s YouTube Channel (Nick Off Duty) boasts over 153,000 subscribers, where he produces the video series “Police Cars” and “Police Vlogs” which have garnished millions of views.

Emphasizing the power of storytelling, they will delve into creating compelling agency brand narratives that resonate with an agency’s target audience through three examples of social media campaigns that garnered more than 3,000 applications. Participants will discuss effective content strategies, utilizing visual elements, and engaging storytelling to showcase agency culture, explore data-driven approaches, and leverage technology advances in phone application services.
