Kyleigh Beaver
Public Affairs Officer, Maryland Department of State Police
Kyleigh Beaver is a Public Affairs Officer with the Maryland State Police, where she manages strategic communications and social media content. With a background in Broadcast Journalism and a focus on government communications, she has developed impactful content for public health and law enforcement sectors, effectively bridging public safety messaging with community engagement.
Since joining the Maryland State Police in 2023, she has been instrumental in revitalizing the agency’s social media presence. Through initiatives like the “Meet Maryland’s Finest” series, her approach has not only elevated public perception but also driven substantial engagement across the agency’s social media platforms. Her work supports the department’s broader objectives, including the recruitment of qualified candidates for both sworn and civilian roles and the enhancement of police transparency - both with the public and internally among personnel.
Through the strategic use of consistent visual messaging – such as #NewsAlerts and #SafetyInitiatives– she has helped to establish a recognizable and trustworthy social media identity for the agency.
At this year’s conference, she will share insights on building viewership through compelling content and explore how unified messaging played a crucial role during the nationally covered emergency response to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.
